“Spring is the time of plans and projects.”
Spring is just around the corner, and I've got to say I'm pretty excited about it. Too long has North America been buried under snow and enduring the bitter cold winter.
One of the best parts about a new season is, of course, new beauty/fashion trends! Put away your dark vampy lip colors of the fall, and start embracing the pretty pastels that are more seasonally apropriate. In this blog post I break down three different color groups and give some insight on some of my favorite lip products for each one.
I've got all three varieties categorized as a "daytime, date time, or night time" color. I've also provided swatches for a better look!
Violet lip color looks especially pretty on fair skin, so its friendly to the winter paleness that we've all acquired.
- DAYTIME- Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in the color Darling
Hydrating, moisturizing, with a minty smell. Perfect subtle violet for a kiss of spring!
- DATE TIME- Wet n Wild VICIOUS VARNISH High Shine Lip Stain - Fergie Collection in the color Street Queen
Goes on as a creamy gloss, dries to a lip stain. Good for semi-long wear. Highly pigmented and a great bargain for the price!
- NIGHT TIME- Milani lipstick in the color Uptown Mauve
Not what I would consider a mauve color, but a perfect bright, neon purple for a night out with the girls! Its bringing the classic bold lip color into spring by having a pigmented bright and fun color that's wearable.
Forever feminine, these pale, pretty colors are perfect for spring. Lots of varieties ranging from opaque to bright and vibrant make this a very wearable color for all skin types.
- DAYTIME- Revlon Colorburst Lip Gloss in the color Bejeweled
Perfect opague, pale, and pretty pink. Simplistic and shiny, its appropriate for a day matched with a casual fashion look.
- DATE TIME- Maybelline Color Whisper in the color Pink Possibilities
A little more fun than the first pink feature! Sheer coverage but highly pigmented, a glossy and shiny balm.
- NIGHT TIME- Kate Moss for Rimmel London Matte Lipstick in the color 103
Goes on beautifully pigmented and smooth. Color is a dusty pink that is perfect for a night out. Long lasting wear and matte finish. One of my absolute favorites. Great quality for a drugstore price!
Over the years corals have always came back into style during the spring and summer months. These beautiful colors are great at complementing fair skin tones, and provide a perfect pop of color for spring!
- DAY TIME- Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss in the color Pango Peach
This is one of my favorite lip glosses from the drug store. There is a hint of gold shimmer but its not over powering, and the glossy finish is beautiful!
- DATE TIME- Revlon Lip Butter in the color Juicy Papaya
As you can tell, I love Revlon products. This is a lip butter which means is very hydrating, moisturizing, and has a glossy finish. Beautiful coral color that is fresh and fun!
- NIGHT TIME- Kate Moss for Rimmel London Matte Lipstick in the color 109
A highly pigmented, color, bright orange lipstick. I admit that sounds intimidating but once on your lips the color turns more of a red orange and is a fun and unique springtime twist to the classic red lip! Has long wear with a matte finish.
And now, swatches of all!
(Yes, this picture is taken in my bathroom HA! Only lighting I had.)
